Chinatown
Unknown to many LA natives are the 30 + art galleries that currently exist throughout Chinatown along with unique boutiques featuring medium to high end men & women's apparel, accessories, art, books, and trendy housewares.
Chinatown also has a large nightlife culture and is home to three unique bars. Hop Louie with it's traditional exterior, the artist designed Mountain Bar, and the long standing Grand Star Jazz Club. Get your fix of jazz, funk, hip hop n' soul with underground clubs such as Soul Sessions which takes place 2nd & 4th Fridays at the Grand Star Jazz Club.
Chinatown is also home to the annual Chinese New Year Festival, Moon Festival, California Soul, and the Make It Funky Festival.
Make a day of it and peruse the long standing souvenir stores, Chinese herb shops, and book stores. Grab some dim sum or satisfy your sweet tooth at one of the many Chinese bakeries and don't forget to bring your camera!
